Agriculture is an important part of the Saskatchewan economy and has played an important role in the development of the province. Agricultural activity releases greenhouse gases through a number of processes. Appropriate fram management practices can reduce the level of emissions while enhancing the carbon content of soils. Agriculture is vulnerable to a changing climate where this affects growing temperatures or the amount of moisture available for crops. Farm organizations and agricultural research agencies have been very active in examining the ways in which climate change issues affect agriculture. Some of the many agencies with programs are:
