Mitigation strategies for climate change involve actions that reduce the rate of change and the extent of change we may see with climate change. If taken to an extreme they could even reverse the effects of climate change, although it is unlikely this could occure in the near future. To minimize the rate and extent of climate change two groups of mitigation actions can be used: Reducing the amount of greenhouse gases we produce and removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
